It’s Fence Building Time

Building a fence is awesome! Especially if you have a dog. (One of the big reasons we decided to enclose the back and front yard.)

The sides were already fenced, so why not finish the job? Plus our pup, Lulu is SO HAPPY! Now she can frolic and chase squirrels any time she wants to. It also adds a higher level of privacy as well as quietness and helps filter dust from the street.

The first process was to remove the old Adirondack stone fireplace. It’s been there for almost 100 years and the stones were a mess and falling to pieces. It was also positioned awkwardly. We played with the idea of restoring it, but the town doesn’t like fires so we decided to remove it. The good news is we reused all stones by outlining our beautiful cedar trees and gardens. Looks great now.

The second process was clearing out all the brush, trees and foliage that was growing in the area. We have a bit of a ravene in the back yard and it looked very messy and overgrown. Clearing all that out created a ton of space.

Once that was done, we had to dig all the holes for the posts. Thankfully we had a lot of help from our good friends at White Barn Design! They are located in Lake Placid and super cool and professional. I highly recommend working with WBD!

I just want to congratulate you on the exquisite job you did on the Cottages! Did I mention how dreamy the beds are? I had my best night's sleep in weeks. Ahhhhh Oh my god! I just want to move in today. You have such lovely taste. It has such a peaceful aura. We all had a wonderful stay. Thank you again.
