How to Make Handmade Flower Boxes

16 May 2016 0 Comments

As a celebration for buying GO-Cottage many years ago, we decided it was time to remove our old, broken down flower boxes and build new handmade ones. After 80 years or more, the boxes were literally falling off the cottage! There was no way I was going to plant fresh flowers in them another year. Being DIY-ers

There’s no place like bed (with great bed linens!)

There’s no better place than your own bed! And one of the most essential aspects of a good night’s sleep is the right bed linens. Both Crate and Barrel and Ikea have great sheets for less. For inexpensive, soft bed linens, I love Ikea’s Dvala line. If you’re looking for more expensive luxury, try Pottery

Each year I can’t wait to mulch, fertilize, plant, rake, and paint! Getting out there and physically working

Garage External Renovation

16 Mar 2015 0 Comments

This 250 square foot garage has been sitting un-finished since the 1920s, so we decided it was time to fix it up with an external renovation! Focusing on the exterior, we wanted to freshen it up by shingling the outside, putting on a new roof and repainting the doors and windows. We chose prefabricated cedar shingles.
