Small is the New Big!

I’ve always believed that “small is the new big,” and I’ve been able to promote this concept for many years with GO-Cottage.

When we first bought the property, I was looking for something small that we could renovate and use for our own purposes.

Luckily we found the perfect property and I realized, wow we could also rent this out to our friends. Why not share the love so they could enjoy it too? It’s wonderful to be able to share. That’s a story for a future blog post! 😉

The tiny house movement started getting big with the economy crash in 2008. People had to start downsizing and becoming more frugal.

“Small is the new big” is a whole lifestyle concept centered around not being wasteful. It’s simple– it’s about being appreciative and respectful of your surroundings, your space, and your life. Being resourceful, respecting the environment, and having a small carbon footprint.

As people living in the world, we have to be conscious of our actions. Everything has changed now that we understand that all elements are finite. And that we are all connected. So we have to do good by our environment and by ourselves!

Living tiny or small keeps your life stress-free too. If you ask me, the less you have the better! Having a lot of stuff can weigh you down and make you feel heavy. When you let go of all that extra stuff in your life, you’re light and free to move quickly and effortlessly! Free to be more productive and give more to yourself and the world.

I’m constantly inspired by Tiny House Blog and Cabin Porn. We can’t wait to continue putting “small is the new big” into practice with our garage / loft renovation. We’ve renovated these cottages with the belief that less is truly more– in design, in your life, and as citizens of the earth.

I just want to congratulate you on the exquisite job you did on the Cottages! Did I mention how dreamy the beds are? I had my best night's sleep in weeks. Ahhhhh Oh my god! I just want to move in today. You have such lovely taste. It has such a peaceful aura. We all had a wonderful stay. Thank you again.
