If you have ever been to the Adirondacks and Whiteface mountain you know one of the best ways to see the region is by bicycle. Easy to advanced, road and mountain bike paths and trails, wind through forest, across streams, and up mountain ways. Two of our favorite rides are the River Road Loop and the Notch that winds down and around Whiteface mountain.

What I love about the River Road Loop is the long winding flat surface. No pot holes! Perfectly flat and it runs along the beautiful Ausable River that runs the entire way along the road. It’s also very hilly and gives such a great hard workout. It’s about 5 or 6 miles and is seriously one of the best rides in the region. The Wilmington Notch ride is similar and also runs along the river accept the road has great big wide shoulders that give the rider a lot of space. I love both of these rides and highly recommend checking them out. (see 3 photos below)

For the hardcore bike enthusiast Lake Placid holds a yearly bikefest on Whiteface mountain. This year the festival will take place June 20-22nd and will begin with X Game style bike jumping followed by two days of road and mountain biking races. These events will cover most of the greatest bike terrain in the Adirondacks and we look forward to viewing them!

I just want to congratulate you on the exquisite job you did on the Cottages! Did I mention how dreamy the beds are? I had my best night's sleep in weeks. Ahhhhh Oh my god! I just want to move in today. You have such lovely taste. It has such a peaceful aura. We all had a wonderful stay. Thank you again.
