Setting Up Your Flower Boxes For Planting

Now that the flower boxes are done, we’re ready to set them up for planting.

To preserve the boxes, I like to put foil inside them. When you’re doing this, there are a few things to be conscious of. Make sure to use thick foil since it will be in the boxes for a very long time. Punch holes through the foil so that water can drain, and cover the entire bottom area.

Next put in a pre-formed Coco fiber liner insert. They are made to drop right into your existing window box. I got these from Amazon. And they’re a perfect fit!

Next you’re ready to fill the box with dirt. I like Miracle Grow planting soil. It’s hearty and holds water well.

Finally time to plant the flowers! I particularly love petunias and any flowers that are pink!

I just want to congratulate you on the exquisite job you did on the Cottages! Did I mention how dreamy the beds are? I had my best night's sleep in weeks. Ahhhhh Oh my god! I just want to move in today. You have such lovely taste. It has such a peaceful aura. We all had a wonderful stay. Thank you again.
